Jaime Hayon Designer of 2010

2010 looks also to be another big year  for one of our favourite Spanish designers: Jaime Hayón.  The self professed “designer artist” has been recognised “Designer of the Year of Scènes d’Intérieur”, which this year is celebrating its twentieth anniversary within the Maison&Objet fair in Paris.

Hayón worked for eight years at La Fabrica, the research centre founded by Oliverio Toscani, where he filled the post of director of the Academic Design department. His earliest works on his own date from the year 2005, with ceramics and furniture. He later expanded his field of action through the design of interiors and installations. Since then he has worked for large firms such as Camper, bd Barcelona, Lladró, Metalarte and Bisazza.

bd is not a style

When we thought on a phrase that defines what is BD, we came upon many different, but ultimately the one we chose was “BD is not a style”. We can explain why, but it would be too obvious for anyone who knows us well.
