YOU-ZU: Scott Petrie

Artist Scott Petrie was born in Sydney and raised on the Northern Beaches, his works evoke intense emotion through a masterful layering of colours. Petrie’s application of wax and glazes to a base of oils, results in a complexity and depth to the canvas.  Each piece seems to burst with colour –  an unmistakable nod to the hues found in Australian and exotic foreign environments.

Currently residing in Singapore on assignment, Petrie’s works are frequently published in print here and abroad thanks to their striking scale and vibrancy.  A favourite of Interior Designer Greg Natale, Scott’s works can be found hanging in many of Greg’s residential projects.

YOU-ZU: Dorryce Rock

This week we’re delighted to introduce you to celebrated Australian painter Dorryce Rock.  Dorryce’s second solo exhibition of over 40 neon-bright paintings are set to enthrall contemporary art collectors and ignite a new array of interest in this talented artist when it opens in Sydney this March. For the first time, Rock has painted a dazzling array of paint hues on perspex instead of on a traditional canvas base, enabling an “incandescent glow”.

Dorryce, a former event stylist is forever experimenting and evolving her creative practice and this next exhibition is set to be cracker!  We’re also pretty excited about her forthcoming collaboration with Designer Rugs.
